Letting the Barbies and their purple corvet take a ride down the slide!!!

I decided to take the kids and their friends out to a couple of parks today to get out of the house. Mainly for my sake.... but also to get out and enjoy this amazing weather we are having! We first started off at a park we call the "CHOO-CHOO" playground. It is a park near our house that has railroad tracks up the hill from the playground and it is a busy track. It also has a trail and there is a big tunnel that the kids enjoy running into when a train comes because it gets really really loud in the tunnel. There is a creek that runs next to the trail as well. Today was the first day my kids have ever actually got into it. Me and the girls went back to the playground while the boys stayed back and played in the creek. They came running back once saying they saw a snake, then a second time saying they caught a frog. Sure enough they did and immediately wanted something to put it in. We went home and put the frog in an empty aquarium we had. I guess i will going to buy some insects from the pet store tomorrow so it can eat!
We got Audrey ( Bailey's friend ) and Bailey girl their rain boots and went on to another big park near our house. I took the kids to a big playground that i knew had a big creek for the kids to play in. We spent probably close to three hours there. It was a lot of fun. The boys were a little disappointed that they didn't find another frog but they had a blast playing in the creek.
Bailey fell down in the creek on her side. She was soaked. But, what did she do...... she jumped up and said, " oh man" and then continued on. She is a tough cookie. That water was freezing!
We were walking back from the creek and ran into some people riding their horses and the man told the kids that if they all got up on the picnic table he would let them pet their horses. The kids got a big kick out of that!
It was an awesome day and a great way to start off our Spring Break!!

Insightful conversation.....

Brooks and I always have the best conversations in the car after school. It didn't used to be like this. When Brooks was in Kindergarten and First grade i would pick him up from school and I would ask him all kind of questions about his day, his response to me was, " Mom, why do you have to ask me all these questions about my day, why do you care?" " Stop talking so much when i get into the car". Ouch, right? Yes, it hurt my heart to hear him say that to me, but one day toward the end of his first grade year he got into the car and asked, " Mom, why don't we talk anymore when i get in the car?" " You never ask me how my day was or anything!" I just laughed and was very greatful that he wanted to talk again. And that he missed me asking him about his day!

Today he got into the car and was telling me how he wants to become an astronaut and go to the moon. He wants to see what is flying in space and see meteors flying around. I asked, " so that is what you want to be when you grow up?" His response was this, " yes, but then after i get to do that i want to quit that job and move on to fighting for our country". " I want to join the Military and get rid of all the bad guys, and when i finish that i want to move up to bigger and harder battles."
WOW!!!! I was i impressed and proud at that moment! What BIG, BIG dreams our boy has! I hope he gets to all those things when he grows up! We are so proud of you Brooks and will be just as proud when you achieve all your goals when you grow up! We love you Buddy!

MAKE UP YOUR MIND, Mother Nature!!!

Sad Bailey girl, she wants the snow to come back....

Seriously, make up your mind Mother Nature! Not a half our after the snow ended, the clouds went away and the blue sky came out and the Sun came out with a vengeance. Strange! But, I'm not complaining! Loving the sun shining! Bailey girl on the other hand is very sad and wants the snow to come back. She was sitting at the window crying. She said, " I am sad, where did all the snow go?" :(

70 degrees one day, 40 and snow the next..... That's Kansas for ya

catching snow on her tongue, crossed eyed and all!

Clark DID NOT like being out in the cold....can you say, " spoiled?!"
one of her favorite things to do, eating snow!

We had the most beautiful day yesterday. It was a tease. I am so looking forward to warm weather and we got a taste of it. It didn't last long though...... this is what we are getting today.

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK, KU!!!!

Brooks thought he was being sneaky by putting rabbit ears on Blake until Blake told Brooks to come look at the pic. It was funny to see his face!!!
Elena ( Trent's baby girl ) loved Brooks. Followed him everywhere.
He was so good with her, was showing her how to play his DS.
Blake holding baby Nolan ( Burkharts baby boy ) while watching the game!
Bailey was very excited to have such a big coke all to herself!
Dayla and her daughter Randi
Some of the guys playing Goldin Tee, of course!
Blake and Brandon

We met up with all our friends and their families to watch the big Kansas vs Missouri basketball game at a local bar. We had a great great time! Especially since the Jayhawks pulled out a WIN in overtime!!!!
The kids had a whole back room full of games and air hockey to play and keep them entertained. They also had a big open area to play and run right where our tables were! Couldn't have been any more perfect for them!
It was a good time hanging out with friends we hadn't seen in a while since we all have families now and we all keep a pretty busy schedule! Good Times!!!!

Play date with the Bestie

Bailey had one of her best buds over to play this afternoon. They play so well together. ( Most of the time ) They weren't too bad today. They played outside a bit, painted, roller skated around the house and played a bit with Brooks and the older neighbor girl, Shylee. ( Which is pretty much an adopted child )
The girls came into the kitchen today to show me what they had painted, they had painted rainbows. So cute!! Hearing them roller skate around the house and giggle and scream every time they were going to fall down or fell down made me laugh!!! Right after one would fall you would hear in their sweet little girly voices, " OHHH, Are you Ok?!?!?!" It was sweet!!! It was a great play date! Thanks Audrey for coming and playing at our house today!

Brooks had is school open house and got to show us all the fun things he has been making and learning about in class! They have been quit busy this year.
After that we went for the 2 graders music program. There are 4 second grade classes. They each had their own lines to memorize and say. Brooks did great, as well as the rest of the kids.
The music was awesome. Quit entertaining!
